Zirconium Silicate is an important inorganic compound, usually a white or off-white powder. In nature, it exists as zircon; pure zircon is colorless and transparent, but impurities can cause it to appear in colors such as yellow, orange, red, brown, and green.
What are the uses of Zirconium Silicate?
- In the ceramics industry: It is a high-quality opacifier used in ceramic production, and is widely used in the production of building ceramics, sanitary ceramics, and daily-use ceramics. It can give ceramic products a white appearance, improve the bonding performance of ceramic body and glaze, and increase the hardness of ceramic glaze.
- In the field of refractory materials: its melting point is as high as about 2500℃, and it has good fire resistance. It can be used to make refractory materials such as zirconium ramming mix, castables, and spray coatings for glass kilns.
- Other applications: It can also be used as a filler in special glass and ceramic raw materials, special rubber-reinforced resins, as a catalyst, textile brightener, and optical coating, etc.
TOPLUS zirconium silicate exhibits strong visible light scattering, giving ceramic products a flawless white appearance, resistance to yellowing and scratches, and enhancing the product's aesthetics and quality. It is also resistant to acids, alkalis, and oxidation, and does not readily undergo chemical reactions in acidic or alkaline environments, making it widely applicable in fields such as chemical engineering and semiconductors where high corrosion resistance is required.
