TOPLUS,Sodium carboxymethylcellulose and sodium carboxymethyl starch are derivatives of an ether structure obtained by chemical modification of natural cellulose and starch, respectively. They are widely used in many fields such as detergents, cosmetics, oil drilling, textile pulp, building materials, paper, casting, food, leather, and pharmaceuticals. Potato starch residue is the waste residue produced by the potato in the process of producing starch. On average, about 5 tons of wet waste is produced per ton of starch produced. The main components of potato starch residue are water, starch, cellulose, pectin, lignin, hemicellulose, etc. If the useful ingredients can be effectively utilized, not only the potato starch residue can be utilized, but also the potato starch residue can be solved.
The potato starch residue obtains the refined raw material with higher cellulose content and the refined raw material with starch and cellulose as main components through different purification methods; the obtained refined raw material is further alkalized, etherified, neutralized, washed, dried, etc. The product of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and a mixture of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and sodium carboxymethyl starch can be prepared by a process. The various performance indexes of the mixture of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and sodium carboxymethyl starch are as follows: the viscosity is about 3700 mPa·s (2% aqueous solution), the pH is between 7.0 and 7.5, and the degree of substitution is maintained at about 0.50. The dry weight loss is maintained at about 8.0%, the chloride content is about 0.15%, the arsenic content is about 0.000015%, the lead content is 0.001%, and the heavy metal content is acceptable. All indicators have met certain requirements, and can replace sodium carboxymethyl cellulose or sodium carboxymethyl starch in certain areas.
