PNB is a colorless, transparent liquid with a slight ether-like odor, much milder than that of ethylene glycol ether solvents. It is a low-toxicity, low-odor alcohol ether solvent.
What are the uses of PNB?
PNB combines the properties of both alcohols and ethers, exhibiting excellent solubility and a moderate evaporation rate, making it widely used in coatings, cleaning, inks, and other fields.
- In the coatings and painting industry: as a co-solvent for solvent-based coatings, it can effectively dissolve resins and improve the leveling, gloss, and adhesion of the coatings.
- Industrial cleaning applications: Used for cleaning oil stains, resin residues, and paint stains from metal surfaces, as well as for precision cleaning of electronic components and printing equipment. It has strong dissolving power and leaves no residue after evaporation, and is compatible with most materials.
- Printing inks and adhesives: As solvents or diluents for inks, they regulate ink viscosity and drying rate, improve color development and printing clarity, and reduce plate clogging problems.
TOPLUS PNB can dissolve polar resins and is also compatible with some non-polar substances, making it suitable for water-oil dual-use formulations. It has a mild scent.
